Troubleshooting

On most modern computers, Just Learn Morse Code simply installs and works right away. However, every once in a while things get a bit more involved.

The program doesn't install

Windows 95, 98, ME
Install the Windows Installer 2.0 prior to installing Just Learn Morse Code.

Windows 2000, XP, 2003
You need to be logged on as an administrator to install software.

- or -

"This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."

The download did not complete and you're trying to install from a partial msi file. Retry the download.

Cryptic error message on startup

"The ordinal 11 could not be loaded in the dynamic link library DSOUND.dll"
"The executable is linked to missing export DSOUND.DLL:11"
or something similar

Windows 95
Install DirectX 8.0a

Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, 2003
Install DirectX 9.0c

Audio problems

Get a hold of updated drivers for your sound card, or try a different sound card.

The Help system doesn't work
